An assortment of flag images and flag decorations on sale at the local Fry’s Supermarket on July 4th, in Phoenix. If you view this in the original size, there are a few images in the montage that are very fine. Notes are on the tiles in the image.

The previous set contains a variety of desserts for sale, all with the American flag and ubiquitous red/white/blue for the Fourth of July.

Mike is a believer in George Chaffey’s Rule #1 about “having fun”. Mike showed up for his first Rotary meeting as Club President decked out in his Shrine Clown costume (white face and all) blowing a plastic trumpet !  The Club is still in shock. Mike wore the same clown costume this year when he traveled to Barquisimeto, Venezuela on an 11 day Rotaplast mission.

At the District level Mike chaired the Annual Foundation fund raising event at the same time he was Club President. Mike took the District to a new venue at the State Fairgrounds during the running of the California State Fair. The event was quite successful.  At the present time, Mike is serving as Membership Chair for District 5160.

For nearly 30 years, Mike was a member of the California Highway Patrol rising from the rank of Officer to Assistant Chief.  He has served in 10 different locations from San Diego in the south to Redding in the north.  As an Assistant Chief, Mike served as a regional manager overseeing numerous CHP offices and programs.
